Automatically print Outlook image attachments
EZDetach makes printing Outlook image attachments very easy. You can even configure EZDetach to print automatically when a new message arrives, without requiring any human action.
One of the scenarios where this can be useful is printing incoming faxes. Nowadays most people receive faxes via online fax services which deliver faxes as email attachments. PDF (.pdf) and TIFF (.tif) are the two most frequently used formats for electronic fax delivery. This page describes how to configure your system to automatically print incoming TIFF (as well as jpg, gif, png and bmp) files. See instructions on how to print PDF attachments if your faxes are sent as PDF files.
Printing Outlook image attachments manually
- Save this file print_image.bat to c:\print_image.bat
- Select one or several messages from which you would like to print attachments and click the EZDetach Outlook toolbar button.
- In the EZDetach "Save Attachments" dialog, check the "Execute" checkbox and type c:\print_image.bat in the field next to it.
- Click "Save Now"
- That's it. The attachments should be printing on your default printer.
Printing Outlook image attachments automatically
You can also follow the above steps to create Rule Wizard rules with EZDetach to automatically print attachments from incoming messages. Rule Wizard's flexibility allows you to automatically print all incoming attachments or only attachments from messages which match certain criteria. See EZDetach User Guide for more information on creating rules with EZDetach.
Note: print_image.bat script we provide is very simple, just to illustrate the approach. It can be made more robust/feature full to fit your needs.
